My dream Line-up 2007

I have been mulling over the reality of Kenyan politics in 2007 and am compelled to think of a possible line-up. Just imagine what happens if Kibaki rigs himself back or is helped by a wily Moi who will mislead Uhuru to ditch opposition unity. What happens if Kalonzo Musyoka is cheated by the figures in those opinion polls beig cooked in some offices somewhere in Nairobi? Kibaki goes back and the thieves are emboldened. Kirauitu's mouth would twist more, Murungi would sweat more and rant more and Mutua will be more voluble with those recycled verbiages of his. In short the government will have Kibwana to rubbish his impressive academic record and civil-society CV while more opportunists will join the bandwagon just to tap from the gravy-train. We must stop this government which turned from a sensitive proponent of all those virtues of governance that were not known in Moi's Kenya. Don't lecture me on 'the democratic space has increased in Kenya' because that is too academic. What has increased in Kenya is the freedom to grumble at a government and ruling class that is becoming increasing deaf and intransigent, indeed dead to the realities of the nation.

In the deep thought I asked myself, what of a Raila presidency with Kalonzo Musyoka as a vice-president and Musalia Mudavadi as Prime Minister and Kamotho and say Balala/ Ruto as deputies of either? Wouldn't this provide a chance for Kalonzo to cement his standing and benefit from Agwambo the King-maker? Wouldn't Kalonzo then take time to help Raila clean up that government of all those oldies who are good for the museums? Wouldn't the young guys bring in the youth in power? And by the way, wouldn't we rather reserve nominated mps for women and the physically challenged? I would rather Kalonzo is groomed for veep so as to frustrate the divisive politics coming out of those golf-clubs.

What is your take?
