Isolate and stop Kibaki

The needless deaths of Kenyans that followed the stealing of their victory is condemnable. Kenyans of whatever tribe were free to vote for whomever they wanted to and must never be incriminated on the basis of their choice. The election was free and relatively orderly, at least at the vote-casting. However, the vote counting, though infiltrated unsuccessfully by pre-marked counterfeit ballot papers was equally protected by hawk-eyed party youths and vigilant local and international poll observers. People didn’t know that the enemies of democracy were plotting to spoil our democracy at other stages. Vote tallying was characterised by something Kenyans had hitherto not known about Kibaki. Until this election, we have known Kibaki as a gentleman. But NO, he is a spineless dictator with little or no respect for neither democracy nor consultation which traits are confirmed by the ruthlessness with which the First Lady slaps people around. She has had to steel herself against the quiet man who displays a façade of peace and stability. Through Lucy, we now know the only language that Kibaki understands.

The constitution was overthrown, an election was rubbished and the international community has to isolate Kibaki. Unless something dramatic happens, Kibaki will not yield. Could the Commonwealth suspend Kenya’s membership. Please recall or send away some of Kenya’s embassy officials. Kibaki will delude himself that people will yield, meanwhile the international community is awaiting another Mugabe in Kenya. The consequences of allowing Kenya to degenerate into another Zimbabwe may be profound from the perspective of the war on terror and certainly the world is not ready for a ‘deluge’ of Kenyan asylum seekers. The world has to force Kibaki to stop the genocide in Kenya. We need to restore democracy in Kenya, NOW.
